As we approach the 227th anniversary of the start of the Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia on May 25, 1787, I write to encourage you to consider supporting ConSource in its mission to facilitate greater access to and understanding of U.S. Constitutional History.
Just as the Framers needed the support of the nation in order for the Constitution to become the law of the land, so, too, does ConSource need your support to continue to make our nation’s constitutional history freely available and clearly understandable by the American public.
There is an often-told story that at the end of the Constitutional Convention, Benjamin Franklin was approached by a group of citizens who asked him what sort of government the delegates had created. Franklin famously replied, “A republic, if you can keep it.”
Democratic republics are not merely founded upon the consent of the people, they are also dependent on the active and informed involvement of citizens like you. Every dollar contributed to ConSource helps us preserve the republic created by the Framers 227 years ago.
