February 19, 2016

Today and tomorrow,  the University of San Diego Law School's Center for the Study of Constitutional Originalism hosts the annual Hugh and Hazel Darling Foundation Originalism Works-in-Progress conference (this is the seventh annual conference).

We will hear papers from William Baude and Stephen Sachs (Chicago and Duke); Kurt Lash (Illinois); Larry Solum (Georgetown); John Stinneford (Florida); John McGinnis and Michael Rappaport (Northwestern and USD); Jamal Greene (Columbia); and Jeff Pojanowski and Kevin Walsh (Notre Dame and Richmond).  And we will have as commentators on the papers, respectively, Randy Barnett (Georgetown); John Harrison (Virginia); Richard Fallon (Harvard); Don Dripps (USD); Chris Green (Mississippi); Michael McConnell (Stanford); and Mitch Berman (Pennsylvania).

There will also be a warm-up event featuring me and Thomas Lee (Fordham) debating (what else?) the original meaning of the natural born citizen clause.

We are honored that so many distinguished scholars from all over the country have agreed to present papers and offer commentary.  And we are especially honored that quite a number of distinguished scholars from all over the country, not mentioned above, will come to San Diego to hear the papers and commentary.

(It's true that the San Diego weather forecast for the weekend is sunny and 70 degrees.)
